Sauna House

Sauna has a special place in Finnish culture. There are nearly 2 million of them in Finland when country's population is about 5,4 million. Sauna is not only a place to clean oneself, but also a spiritual place. There are many sauna customs and sauna etiquette, such as the use of "vihta" – birch branches which you dip in water and gently spank yourself! :) This helps peal away all the micro-dirt and dead skin and energises your body!Finnish Sauna culture has lately spread over the world. There are also many benefits of having a sauna in a separate building, as it can be integrated with a hobby or guest bedroom. This sauna project has a spacious living room, washing room, guest bedroom a large terrace, and the core of the house – the sauna room. A classic way to make a sauna is with a wooden stove, as it gives more pleasant and balanced heat distribution. A great location to place the sauna house is close to the main building / dwelling house, preferably close to a lake or river, as one could have a refreshing swim after the sauna!
