Safari house for Christmas House Safaris in Rovaniemi, Finland
We have recently completed another beautiful project: safari house made out of wooden log near our hometown of Rovaniemi Lapland Finland. The safari house was ordered by a local tour operator Christmas House Safaris, what is owned by Santa Claus Holiday Village. The safari house is the heart of a newly established reindeer farm situated a short drive away from Rovaniemi Lapland Finland.
The safari house is situated in a truly beautiful forest area, near the lake. It is surrounded by pristine nature, yet, it’s only a 20 minutes drive a way from the Santa Claus Village.
The construction of the project started in Summer 2018. The plot was prepared and connected to the road network.
The logs came from our log house factory, numbered and ready for assembly.
The assembly of such house only takes a few days, and you can immediately proceed with building the roof.
The floor plan of the house features a huge main room to host the guests of Christmas House Safaris, as well as kitchen facilities, showers, and rest rooms.
Wooden log is the main construction material. It is very warm, aesthetically beautiful and requires no maintenance! Perfect for a forest residence like this one.
This house uses some of the thickest logs available through Aito Log Houses – laminated log 243x275mm. This ensures a great insulation from the elements, particularly the harsh Lappish winter, as well as structural stability. A detached wooden chalet certainly would use a less thick log.
On the outside, the wooden log is painted with a nice dark paint that protects it from moist. Repainting every 5–10 years is possible.
The main goal of the building is to accommodate significant tourists groups at a time, in a traditional and natural environment.
The large dining hall features tables for up to 100 people.
The safari house features large kitchen facilities, which were still under construction at the moment of shooting.
The heart of the safari house is a cosy and beautiful fireplace.

The area offers several auxiliary structures, such as teepee’s for barbeque.

This safari house is a great example that a building intended for commercial use can still fulfill high ecological standards.
